Cyclists Welcome
The main goal of this project is to improve quality of travel-related services in the Czech Republic for a specific target group of bicyclists and cycletourists through the implementation of the national certification scheme of such services called "Bicyclists Welcome". The certification scheme will define quality standards comparable to existing certification schemes in other EU countries. In addition, the Czech scheme also deals with tourism destinations catering to the needs of bicyclists and cycletourists and it introduces an original system of points of first aid and technical assistance along the cycle routes.
Certification Criteria for Accommodation
(Hotels, B&B, private accommodation, chalets/cottages)
Obligatory criteria
1. Provide overnight accommodation
2. Offer healthy breakfast foods (yoghurt, muesli, fresh fruit)
3. Offer the possibility to wash and dry clothes and equipment
4. Provide a bicycle lock-box or other safe room for bicycle storage
5. Provide basic bicycle repair tools for simple bicycle repair (see Recommended Technical Tool Kit)
6. Provide space with basic equipment for bicycle cleaning
7. First Aid kit (see Recommended First Aid kit)
8. Information Board for Bicyclists including a welcome letter, news, and a list of local bicycle services

(restaurants, pubs, wine establishments)
Obligatory criteria
1. Offer of drinks catering to the needs of bicyclists incl. at least one refreshing "bicycledrink", fruit and herbal teas in price range not exceeding price of other non-alcoholic beverages and beer
2. Offer of at least one warm vegetarian non-fried meal during the entire opening time. The food offer must also contain meals with low content of fat (e.g. whole wheat pasta, vegetables, fruits)
3. Bicycle storage (coverable) in reach of guests, lockable storage/boxes for free bicycle and luggage parking
4. Offer of basic bicycle repair tools for simple bicycle repair (see Attachment Recommended technical tool kit)
5. First Aid kit (see Attachment Recommended First Aid kit)
6. Information board Bicyclists Welcome: news and contacts about bicycle services

3. Bicycle parking near tents, no-fee policy for bicycles

6. Offer of basic bicycle repair tools for simple repairs (see Attachment Recommended Technical Tool Kit)
7. Bicycle cleaning service with basic equipment
